Remove Ink From Clothes and Fabrics

remove ink from clothes

As rubber stamp enthusiasts, we’re in the business of making a mess with ink. Whether you have full-time hobbies that deal with ink or you’re doing a one-time craft project, it’s never fun to get ink on your clothes! Don’t freak out, though! Your favorite clothes aren’t ruined forever. The ink experts at Rubber Stamp Station are here with a few easy solutions on how to remove ink from clothes.

How to Remove Ink From Clothes and Fabrics

When it comes to removing ink from fabric and clothes, there are a few methods you can try. It really depends on the type of fabric and the materials you want to use for removal:

  • Because most households have white vinegar handy already, the most convenient option is a combination of white vinegar and warm water! You can mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with a quart of warm water for a cleaning solution. Then soak the fabric in this solution for an hour before rinsing with warm water and air-drying. If you need to, repeat again, just make sure to rinse thoroughly and dry between soaks. Note: The only issue is that this isn’t a great option if the fabric you’ve inked is cotton or linen.
  • Another option you might consider requires dishwashing detergent and ammonia, but unlike option 1, it’s safe for cotton and linen! For this option, mix 1 quart of warm water, ½ teaspoon of dishwashing detergent, and 1 tablespoon of ammonia into a solution. Then, soak the fabric in the solution for 30 minutes. Rinse completely with warm water before air-drying. Good as new!
  • The last option requires rubbing alcohol. Mix rubbing alcohol with warm water in a 1:1 ratio. After you’ve diluted the rubbing alcohol with warm water, use cotton balls or paper towels to gently dab at the stain. It’s essential to dab and not rub, or you’ll spread the stain across the fabric. You should be able to blot the stain away once it’s loosened. Note: You may need to repeat the blotting process several times as it’s a more delicate option than soaking the entirety of the fabric. Afterward, rinse with warm water and let it dry.

No Mess No Stress with Rubber Stamp Station

If you’ve been getting ink on your clothes pretty regularly, you might be tempted to stop using ink in your projects, but hopefully these solutions from Rubber Stamp Station were helpful in removing any stains. Next time, try self-inking stamps like the 4642 Printy Self-Inking Stamp from Trodat! They’re portable, easy-to-use, and the best part, mess-free! Tips & Tools To Stay Organized at School

back to school

Staying Organized at School with Rubber Stamp Station

The new school year is right around the corner and for all those messy students out there, you may be wondering how to stay organized once you’re finally back at school. Each school year is a fresh start, so Rubber Stamp Station is here to help you make the most of it by offering a few tips and tools on how to stay organized at school.

Tips and Tools To Help Stay Organized at School

Staying organized can seem like a no-brainer to some students, but for others, it’s no easy task! That’s why we made a list of a few tips and tools to help you stay organized at school this fall.

  • Use a planner – If you start every school year off using a planner, but by the third week you’ve given it up, don’t sweat it. Using a planner correctly is a skill, and like all skills, it just takes practice. Set time aside every afternoon to go back through your planner and look over what you’ve written down, or write down things you forgot earlier. Use a bookmark to mark the place and section off a little part of every day for all your subjects. This will help you keep your planner organized.
  • Color Coordinate – Whether you use binders or folders, color coordinate them with your notebooks! Use a red notebook and a red folder for math, green for Science, and blue for English (or whatever colors you choose!) This will help you keep the right subjects in the right folders, binders, and notebooks. You can even take it a step further by highlighting in your planner with the same coordinated colors. A custom subject stamp can also help label and remind you which papers go with which subjects. Ink pads come in a variety of colors to help you color coordinate and stay organized.
  • Date stamp worksheets and assignments – One great tool to help you stay organized with due dates is a date stamper. A Trodat Date Stamp will allow you to quickly stamp due dates on worksheets and assignments so you never forget. You can also use it in your planner to help you remember when things are due versus when they were assigned.

Organization is Easy with Rubber Stamp Station

If you’re wondering how to stay organized at school this fall, don’t worry, Rubber Stamp Station has got you covered. Staying organized is a breeze with our date stamps, custom text stamps, and wide variety of ink color options. For all your organization needs, browse our catalogue or give us a call at 1-850-778-2677. Happy learning!

50 Uses for Rubber Stamps – Part 12 Learning the Arts

learning sewing with prestamped patterns

Part 12, the final part of our 50 Uses for Rubber Stamps series, brings creative ways to use your rubber stamps to aid in learning various art styles!

50. Paint-By-Number, Sewing, & Carving

→ Want to paint, but don’t have a knack for it? Have a child who wants to get into painting but don’t know how to get them started? Art lessons can be expensive, as can art supplies and instructional books. Create your own DIY paint-by-number art using a custom rubber stamp. With one stamp, you can make as many designs as your imagination can dream up. Get your child involved by having them help create their own paint-by-number projects. Make it a family activity for everyone to enjoy.

→ Just learning how to sew, stitch, or embroider? Looking to save time on intricate projects? Prestamp your patterns right onto the fabric! This also comes in handy when teaching beginners in any of these arts. Prestamped patterns improves accuracy and raises the overall quality of the finished product. No more guessing. No more sticking yourself with all those pins while trying to hold together a paper pattern. Stamp your pattern, sew your masterpiece, and say goodbye to all that extra stress and hassle. Working so smoothly and efficiently will give you an extra boost of confidence as you hone your craft.

→ Are you learning to carve wood or a similar medium? Rubber stamps can be used to prestamp patterns onto multiple mediums. Much like prestamping cross stitch, embroidery, and sewing patterns, this allows you to create a template to work from when creating your artistic masterpiece. Having a prestamped pattern will help accelerate the learning process by providing a guide for beginners to work from. As with sewing, having a prestamped pattern improves accuracy and ensures a higher quality finished product. This will allow you to focus on practicing your technique rather than figuring out what pattern you’re supposed to be carving.

That’s a wrap on our 50 uses for rubber stamps! And there’s plenty more where that came from. Need some help figuring out which stamp matches your specific needs? Give us a call at 1 (850) 7STAMPS or visit us online. Our team is here to assist in any way we can!

50 Uses for Rubber Stamps – Part 11 (DIY Phone Case)

DIY custom phone case

Part 11 of our 50 Uses for Rubber Stamps series brings a great idea for creating your own custom DIY phone case!

49 – DIY Phone Case

Here are the 4 simple steps to creating your own custom phone case.

Supplies

  • Your phone
  • A clear phone case
  • A piece of paper
  • a pencil
  • scissors

Step 1: Cut the paper to fit the case

You want the paper to be the correct size to fit in the case without too much extra to spare. The easiest way to do this is to take the case, lay it face down on the piece of paper, and trace the shape of the case. This will give you a good estimate to start with. You can trim to fit as needed.

Step 2: Trace holes for the camera and speaker

Once you have the paper cut to fit, you need to cut out the holes for the camera and speaker. Simply place the paper in the case and use your pencil to trace the speaker and camera holes onto the paper. Cutout these holes and double check to make sure they are lined up correctly.

Step 3: Decorate your new case

This is the fun part! Take your new custom rubber stamp and go to town. No more being limited by the imagination of commercial case designers. Create a one-of-a-kind case that fits your personal style.

Step 4: Assemble your custom phone case

It’s time to put all the pieces together. Put the paper in the case and snap your phone into place. Now you’ve got a custom case that can’t be found on any store shelf.

Step 5: Add some variety

Why stop at one pattern? Use your first design as a template to create more. Take the paper out of the, trace it as many times as you like and rather than one custom case you’ve now got unlimited designs all for the price of one! Want a different colored case to match every outfit? No problem, just trace a new pattern. Change your mind about a style choice? Just create a new style. Unlimited style at minimal cost!

50 Uses for Rubber Stamps – Part 10 (Stationary Projects)

stationary project stamp ideas

Part 10 of our 50 Uses for Rubber Stamps series brings great ideas for stationary projects! Here are a few great ideas from Rubber Stamp Station to help you narrow down what kind of stamp you need for your stationary projects.

47. Faux Foil Printing on Stationary

Foil printing on business cards and other stationary can get very expensive. Fortunately, it is possible to add your own faux foil printing to spice up your custom stationary . All you need is a stamp pad with metallic ink! Faux foil borders, text, and logos will really set you business card, invitations, and other custom stationary projects apart from the rest of the crowd without costing a fortune.

Product Warning: Trodat stamps were not made to be used with other brands of ink. Using non-Trodat ink may permanently damage your stamp and render it unable to function for its intended purpose.

48. Multicolored Stamp Impressions

Are you tired of always stamping with the same color of ink? When you use a Trodat stamp that requires an ink pad, you can purchase multiple colors of ink. But, rather than simply stamping with one color of ink, you can carefully apply multiple colors to create a unique, multicolored impression. All you need is your custom stamp, Trodat ink pads containing the colors of your choice, and a small paint brush for each color. It is best to have one paint brush for each color so you avoid having to stop and wash your brush between colors. Once you have all your supplies, simply take each brush and apply the individual colors where you want them to show up on the stamp. When you are done, test the stamp impression on a piece of scrap paper.

It may take some trial and error to figure out how much ink to apply. You will likely need to apply several coats to each section as the ink will be harder to apply with a brush than it would be by simply pressing the stamp into the pad. The more intricate the stamp design is, the more difficult this technique will be. Bear this in mind when selecting your stamp for this projects. Larger lettering and less detailed graphics will make this project easier.
