Safe Summer Projects – Shirts to Make with Your Kids!

Many of us are looking for fun, fresh activities to do with our kids this summer. Rubber Stamp Station can help! Making personalized t-shirts with your kids is a great craft project with endless design opportunities. Find some awesome ideas below!

Get Started on Your Unique Look

There are several ways to make personalized t-shirts (and your kids’ shirts) that are both safe and fun. So grab a plain t-shirt and let’s get started!

  • Tie-dye. Tie-dye is an age-old activity that’s been around for decades. That’s the best part – it never goes out of style. Tie-dye methods have developed greatly since the late twentieth century. You can buy safe, nontoxic tie-dye kits at most craft and multi-purpose stores.
  • Permanent Stamps. Like a tattoo for your clothes, clothing stamps let you stamp fun designs on your shirts that won’t disappear in the wash. You can upload your own design or you can pick from our vast collection on our website. Stamp on your shirt with our permanent nontoxic, environmentally friendly ink. It won’t come out in the wash and your design will be perfect every time. Whether you want to stamp your clothes with flowers, butterflies, sports icons, or just your name, stamps add a lovely personalized touch to your clothes!
  • Cut-and-tie. Another longstanding DIY fashion statement is to cut-and-tie. It’s easy. Cut small strips on the edge of the fabric and tie them together for an awesome fringe. Here is a great tutorial!
  • Fabric paint is another product found at most craft stores. It’s great for making personalized t-shirts that support a team or group as you can use it to write or create a fun design.

Make Your Summer Style Your Own

Making your own personalized t-shirts is not only a fun project to do with your kids, but lets you make your summer style uniquely personal. The best part is, no matter where you go, nobody will have the same shirt as you! Add a personal touch with tie-dye, paint, and Rubber Stamp Station’s clothing marker stamps. Clothing marker stamps are also a great way to add identifying information on your kids’ clothes. A phone number or address will ensure the shirt they worked hard on will always be returned even if it gets lost. For more information on clothing marker stamps, call Rubber Stamp Station at 1 (850) 7STAMPS. Want your shirts to be personalized but don’t trust your crafting skills? No problem! Baking for the Holidays

A classic staple of the holidays is baked goods! Fruitcakes, pies, brownies, and of course, Christmas cookies! While eating Christmas cookies is the best part of the baking experience, decorating them can be just as fun. If you’re like us, you’re always looking for new ways to keep your cookies fun and unique year after year. You’ve cut them into festive shapes, iced them, sprinkled them red and green, but have you tried stamping them? Use the Trodat 4642 Printy Pocket Stamp to stamp a festive design on the cookies. You can choose a design from our logo catalogue or upload your own. When they’re fresh out of the oven, firmly press the stamp into the warm cookies to imprint the logo right onto your baked goods. Just make sure your stamp has never been inked! A clean stamp is nontoxic, completely safe, and creative. The best part? You can use your stamps year after year to keep the tradition alive.

50 Uses for Rubber Stamps – Part 11 (DIY Phone Case)

DIY custom phone case

Part 11 of our 50 Uses for Rubber Stamps series brings a great idea for creating your own custom DIY phone case!

49 – DIY Phone Case

Here are the 4 simple steps to creating your own custom phone case.

Supplies

  • Your phone
  • A clear phone case
  • A piece of paper
  • a pencil
  • scissors

Step 1: Cut the paper to fit the case

You want the paper to be the correct size to fit in the case without too much extra to spare. The easiest way to do this is to take the case, lay it face down on the piece of paper, and trace the shape of the case. This will give you a good estimate to start with. You can trim to fit as needed.

Step 2: Trace holes for the camera and speaker

Once you have the paper cut to fit, you need to cut out the holes for the camera and speaker. Simply place the paper in the case and use your pencil to trace the speaker and camera holes onto the paper. Cutout these holes and double check to make sure they are lined up correctly.

Step 3: Decorate your new case

This is the fun part! Take your new custom rubber stamp and go to town. No more being limited by the imagination of commercial case designers. Create a one-of-a-kind case that fits your personal style.

Step 4: Assemble your custom phone case

It’s time to put all the pieces together. Put the paper in the case and snap your phone into place. Now you’ve got a custom case that can’t be found on any store shelf.

Step 5: Add some variety

Why stop at one pattern? Use your first design as a template to create more. Take the paper out of the, trace it as many times as you like and rather than one custom case you’ve now got unlimited designs all for the price of one! Want a different colored case to match every outfit? No problem, just trace a new pattern. Change your mind about a style choice? Just create a new style. Unlimited style at minimal cost!

50 Uses for Rubber Stamps – Part 8 (DIY Projects)

ideas for DIY projects Part 8 brings great ideas for DIY projects. Here are some more great ideas to help you narrow down what kind of stamp you need for your DIY projects.

42. DIY Embossed Velvet Clothing and Accessories

You will need a rubber stamp, an iron, and ironing board, a spray bottle with water, and the velvet item you wish to emboss. First, lay the stamp face up on your ironing board. Place the velvet on top of the stamp face down. Spritz the back of the velvet with water, then press the iron to the back of the velvet for approximately thirty seconds. Remove the iron and lift the velvet off the stamp. Place the velvet face up on the ironing board to cool. Let the pattern set until the fabric has returned to room temperature.

This DIY technique can be applied to clothing and accessories such as jackets, bags, purses, scarves, shirts, dresses, skirts, hats, earmuffs, gloves, and slippers. It can also be applied to household items such as throws, curtains, pillows, wall hangings, upholstery, jewelry, gift bags, and journal covers just to name a few.

Safety Disclaimer: It is easy to burn delicate fabrics such as velvet with a hot iron. Set your iron to recommended setting for velvet fabrics and immediately remove the iron from the velvet if you start to smell the fabric burning.

43. Reverse stamping with bleach

When you think of stamping, you probably think of using your rubber stamp to add ink to create an impression. But it is also possible to use your stamp to subtract ink to create an impression. All you need is paper towels, a recycled lid from a plastic container, bleach, and colored paper. Fold up a few paper towels and put them in the plastic lid. Apply bleach to the paper towels to create a DIY stamp pad. Use your rubber stamp to apply to bleach to the colored paper and be amazed as the bleach removes the colored ink embedded in the paper, created a reverse stamping affect.

Product disclaimer: Understand that your stamp was not designed to be used at high temperatures or with any stamping medium other than Trodant brand ink and paper. It is possible that your stamp may no longer work properly for its intended purpose after being used for any of the projects described above.

50 Uses for Rubber Stamps – Part 7 (Children)

children arts and crafts

We’re back with part 7 of our 50 Uses for Rubber Stamps series! Part 7 brings great ideas for children. Here are some more great ideas to help you narrow down what kind of stamp you need for your children.

37. Sign artwork

Many children love arts and crafts. A custom rubber stamp is the perfect way for your child to easily sign their artwork and craft projects. You wouldn’t want them getting mixed up with someone else’s. Keep track of your child’s treasured memories.

38. Decorate children’s bedroom walls

Children love “decorating” walls. Why not let them do so in a constructive way? Use your custom rubber stamp to help them decorate their bedroom walls. It’s quick, easy, and mess free. No more finger paints, stained clothes, or frantic cleanup jobs. Channel all that energy and creativity and make memories that will last a lifetime!

39. Customize t-shirts

Our custom clothing stamps are perfect for decorating t-shirts, leggings, and any other clothing your child desires. Channel that creative energy into a project for the whole family to enjoy. Help them make presents for mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, brothers, and sisters. Decorate their own clothes for the first day of school! Who knows, maybe one day they’ll become a fashion designer!

40. Mark clothing

Children have a habit of leaving things in odd places. Use a clothing stamp to mark their clothing with their name, address, and phone number. Next time they leave a sweater at the mall or school it will be easy for a good samaritan to return the wayward clothing.

41. Temporary tattoos

Kids love decorating themselves almost as much as they love decorating walls and clothing. Temporary tattoos are a fun addition to any birthday party or sleepover. Use a custom hand stamp to give the kids fun temporary tattoos that will easily come off will a little soap and water. Rather than going out and buying expensive temporary tattoos that are complicated and messy to apply, just get a custom hand stamp that is mess free, safe, simple, and takes only an instant to apply. It’s a win-win for everyone.
